Sick!

This has got to be the most... omgwtf moment out of all my Tim Hortons workdays.

Weird old man: Did you just ask if I wanted sex?
Me: .... DDD:?!?!?!

I asked him if he wanted SIX. As in SIX COOKIES. He ordered two white chocolates and two oatmeal raisins, and since they go for 43 cents each with tax, getting 6 for $2.13 will save them around 8 cents per cookie. So, for 41 cents more, he would be able to get two more cookies. I like to inform customers of deals like that, but haha.. funny man. He was with a kid around my sister's age (15 year old or so?) and the kid's girlfriend. THEY laughed too. Arrrgh. D: I was shocked when he said that and literally stopped dead for 3 seconds. Then I recomposed myself and managed to chuckle nervously along too. Pretty awkward. In the end he probably saw through my unease and kept insisting that he was "just kidding".

Sick humour! Sick! DDD:

... I was so close to calling sick from work this morning, but the need for money compelled me to go anyways. Sigh.

Senseless people (person) at work + misc.

The first one and a half hours of work today was horrible. I would rather do tables and clean toilets than go through that again. THAT co-worker lady. OMG. So friggin DEMANDING!!! You don't have to repeat all the coffee orders as if I'm retarded, because I'm NOT. I could hear too. Y'know, I don't want to poke fun at your accent, but it's enough to hear it said once, not twice, not thrice. >_<; And when I'm making the coffee she just comes and does the coffee too, and kept repeating the orders. HELLOOOO?! I'm already at it and I don't think I need help with it? D: Thanks, but no thanks? I absolutely HATE it when people assume that I'm an imbecile just because I had the line "in training" under my name on the nametag. Uh... I know the cash machine better than her too. She didn't even know where the yoghurt button was, and did the meal deals wrong. I think I ranted about this before, but.. I must say it again cause it's a different person. I don't like having people who know less than me criticize me and think they're better than me, because they are NOT. If they're justified and are more knowledgeable than sure, I'd be more than happy to receive "orders" and criticisms. I welcome that. Just not... stuff like telling me how to pour a coffee or plainly pouring the coffee FOR me when I didn't need any help. And definitely NOT from someone who asked the customer if they wanted a wholewheat coffee. DDD:

So anyways, another girl came after that one and a half hours of hell, and I conveniently switched to the other counter and worked with the nice Persian guy. XD I finally found out what his name is today, after most of us got new nametags! No more "in training" on mine anymore~! *is happy* And the afternoon went by relatively smoothly. It's the usual people, subtract the two Korean girls. Other insignificant things include us running out of pennies CONSTANTLY, people ordering bagels like CRAZY in the morning, then ice capps like CRAZY in the afternoon. I was glad that I was at cash; poor Brittany and Jason had to make so many ice capps. XD Towards the end, whenever someone ordered ice capps, I would smile extra widely because it was just amusing. XD

Another two new people came to work today. :O Seems like Timmy's is on a hiring spree.

FLOOD!

Men's bathroom was flooded today for reasons unknown. The floor had puddles of water and well luckily it didn't smell. So at least we know that wasn't urine. D: Probably the toilet, but I didn't want to check. If I flushed it, it might overflow again if I'm right. x_x;

Sigh, I did tables again today because the other lady couldn't come. It wasn't THAT bad but I'd rather do storefront. =P

[Old - Mar 26] Nauseating.

This is even worse than the crap incident. Graphic, disgusting details ahead.Collapse )

I've now acquired the Thank You syndrome. I say thank you all the damn time at work. I thank people for coming, I thank the other staff members for passing me the dirty dishes, as if I wanted them, and once I even thanked a customer for asking for cream (she came back after she placed her food on a table). It's tiring.

Lj-cutting the gross portion of my entry.Collapse )

[Old - Feb 26] Crappy day at work.

Oh man, today has got to be the WORST day at work ever. I broke a soup bowl at noon while I was putting the soup plate combo setup together, and then.. at the busiest time of day, the insepctor from the administration decides to do the seasonal store cleanliness inspection.

I was mopping the floor. Before that, I was sweeping the floor. The both of them took about 45 minutes, and trust me, those damned snow salt pellets just WON'T go away. No matter how I mopped the floor, it'd still be dirty. But I had to do it anyway because it's part of my job.

People come and go, but at this time of day more people came than go. When they do, they'd conveniently leave their trash on the table because I'm there to clean up after them, right? Well, I wasn't able to get rid of them right away as my hands were LITERALLY tied to the mop. So the inspection went on, and for some dumb reason today's kids decided that fingerprint art is especially hip and that our glass front doors would be the perfect place to showoff their artistic talents. Wait, they liked my recently polished napkin dispensers too. They were very shiny indeed.

Hence, my sparkly clean glass doors from this morning were a dirty mess when the insepctor came in. Needless to say, I doubt he was impressed. However! The bathrooms WERE relatively clean. They were the first places I mopped and cleaned, so we should be fine there.

I didn't get my break till the last 20 minutes of my shift. I took a 15-minute break and washed a load of dishes for the last five. Sigh, twas a tiring, frustrating day...

[Old - Feb 19] More work-related things.

Wow, what a weekend. *breathes*

It was so uberly busy at Tim's. People just kept drinking soup today for some reason! Therefore my dishwashing load increased dramatically. T_T One silver plate, one soup bowl, and the spoon. Plus the tray sometimes. As far as I know, I'm now the weekend janitor. I don't mind because I like keeping myself busy. However.. it's a LOT more tiring. My left leg is now KOed. I was limping from 11am in the morning to when I got off work. My leg was already kinda messed yesterday and today worsened it. Sigh, guess that's the result of only getting a total of 30 minutes of sitting time for an 8-hour shift.
